The Stationer’s Summit includes 18 industry leaders teaching on all thing stationery related, and the content will all go live on September 16. As you may or may not know, September 16th holds a special place in Cami’s and my heart because it is the day we both went full time (coincidentally) with our own businesses — now we are blessed to have a business together in Biz Birthday Bash!Read More
This post is a continuation of PART 1, so if you haven’t read that blog post yet, I recommend you start there! This post, PART 2, focuses on more of the day-of logistics for a workshop, and provides additional insights on all the minute details you might not think of when planning a workshop. PART 1 focused on a lot of behind the scenes details that you need to get in place before selling tickets for your workshop.
I’m going to pick up exactly where I left off with the numbers from the previous post...Read More
I’m here to tell you the real, hard, truth. From the outside looking in, hosting in-person workshops for calligraphy, brush lettering, watercolor, etc. might seem super-duper fun but it is actually incredibly hard. I’m not saying that to scare you, I’m just being honest. This blog post is all about outlining what actually goes into planning a workshop, and the price tag that comes along with it (not to mention the work).Read More
Do you have a friend that is a calligrapher and/or stationer and is just breaking into the field? Maybe they’ve been pursuing their hobby & passion for a while, and maybe they’ve even made a career out of it! I’ve compiled a gift guide for calligraphers and stationers so that you don’t need to look anywhere else. In this gift guide I share my top gifts for calligraphers & stationers, and all of these are easy to order online (because we all love taking the hassle out of holiday shopping, am I right?).Read More
This is a topic that I’m super excited to be blogging about. After all, I can’t tell you how many people have emailed me asking how I got involved in my current mastermind group. So, simply stated, this blog post is dedicated to answering some questions about mastermind groups, as well as sharing a few ways you can find one of your own!
I was first contacted by a friend in the stationery business who asked me if I wanted to be part of one. Her (and two other creatives) had already decided to be committed to a mastermind and wanted to get one more person involved…Read More
DISCLAIMER: The opinions that follow are my own and were not endorsed by any organization. Styled shoots work great for some certain people and vendors, but I'm not necessarily one of them. I wrote this post because I thought it was important for me to share my experience and overall opinion about styled shoots; I did not write this post to discourage anyone else from participating in them. This post is also not directed at any specific third party. I do share experiences but I do not name any names. Please take into consideration that this post is written from the point of a calligrapher/stationer so my experience may be different than that of other vendors in the industry. Multiple wedding vendors have expressed how much they agree with many of the points I am about to share below…Read More
WOW! A lot has changed since I last wrote about Dubsado more than a YEAR ago; that’s just crazy for me to think about, especially because my little business has grown so much since then and Dubsado has been there every step of the way. Dubsado still remains an integral part of my calligraphy and design business, ElisaAnne Calligraphy, and I’m using the platform on an almost daily basis (depending on the time of year and how busy I am). Dubsado still remains my top choice out of all the other client management systems I’ve heard of that exist (HoneyBook, 17Hats, Tave… blah blah). Excuse my slight cynicism there, but I don’t really think the other platforms compare because I just love Dubsado that much!Read More
