Hello friends! It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post, mainly because I’ve been swept up in travel, invitation work for weddings, and Biz Birthday Bash in the past few months. I haven’t even had time to send out my monthly newsletter, and I’m starting to think it maybe needs to be a quarterly thing… anyway, I wanted to go ahead and introduce all of you to an amazing quiz software I’ve had the privilege of trying out and utilizing on my website. This software is called Interact, and it’s an online quiz-builder that can help you generate leads for your business! After trying it out, I’m excited to say I have it fully integrated with my website and I can’t wait to see what kind of leads I collect.

One of the most exciting things about having this Interact Quiz on my website is the fact that it is very tailored to brides/grooms specifically that might be interested in my services. It can be so hard to intentionally build a mailing list with the right people on it, and Interact is definitely a big stepping stone for me to build my list better & stronger than ever!

Let’s dive right in… I’m going to share some screenshots of the back end of Interact to show you how I put my quiz together and then embedded it onto my website in pop-up form. And let me tell you, it was so easy for me to figure out! I felt like the whole process was very intuitive.

Interact Quiz: From Scratch or From a Template?

First things first, Interact allows you to start a quiz from scratch or start a quiz from a current template in their library. Because I am who I am, I obviously started mine from scratch because I already had a pretty good idea in my mind of what I wanted it to do. You can choose from three types of quizzes: Assessment, Personality, and Scored. My quiz is a personality quiz! For those of you that might want to incorporate a quiz into your website, but don’t know how to build a good quiz, the template library will be incredibly helpful to you because it is broken down by industry as well as purpose.

I chose the “from scratch” option, but the template option offers so many great templates that you can choose from!

Naming Your Interact Quiz & Customizing How it Looks

From there, I named my quiz, captioned it, and customized all of the colors on it so that it would match my website perfectly when it popped up! And let me tell you, the integration of it into my site looks so natural because the colors coordinate perfectly. I was slightly worried at first that it might look super out of place, but that definitely wasn’t the case (thankfully). And you’ll be able to customize the look of your quiz, including fonts, to whatever you need as well for your branding purposes!

Oh, yes! I love customizing things, and getting to customize my Interact Quiz was such a fun part of the process for me. It matches my branding and website perfectly!

Writing Your Interact Quiz Questions

The next part was slightly more tricky, but only in the fact that it took a little more brain work than the first steps. I needed to come up with all of my questions! Rather than writing my quiz “results” first and writing my questions to fit those results, I entered all 9 of my questions into the quiz first and came up with my “results” after… because even I didn’t quite know where I was headed at the beginning of it all! I knew that I wanted the quiz to be fun, full of pictures, and something to do with wedding invitations, but I was still trying to work out what exactly it would accomplish!

I wrote all my questions first, then decided what results would make the most sense based on the questions I was asking!

What was the Goal of my Interact Quiz?

The goal of my quiz changed a couple times as I was writing my questions, but I eventually decided that, at the end of the day, I just wanted to capture wedding invitation leads… so what better a quiz to do than “What is your dream wedding invitation style?”. At first I had another layer added into it (how much will your dream style cost you) but I quickly cut that out because I realize it defeated the purpose of simply collecting leads (the emails go directly to MailChimp btw) and then nurturing them from there.

Eventually, I could see a clear goal taking shape. I knew that I would have 4 results and each result would talk about a specific wedding invitation style. Honestly, pairing up the questions/answers with the results was one of the most entertaining parts of the process for me, because I really had to think about what answer paired best with what wedding invitation style result… luckily you can link each answer to more than one result if needed! Take a look below at how I paired up certain answers with certain quiz results:

This part of the process is so fun, and also so easy! Simply link the answers to their respective results. You can link more than one result to each answer, which is perfect!

Here’s the result for one of my “wedding invitations styles”! I chose to go without a result image because I had images on every single one of my questions.

Integrating my Interact Quiz with MailChimp

Once I built the quiz it was time to make sure that everything was linked up with my MailChimp account! I went to the edit tab and selected “Integration” to make sure I got everything with MailChimp set up correctly. My main goal is to get anyone that takes the quiz onto my “Pricing Guide” mailing list in MailChimp because they will then automatically be set up to receive a weekly email from me for 12 weeks with information specific to wedding invitations. I chose not to segment any of my leads based on their responses, but I might choose to do that in the future for a different quiz if I find it will be beneficial!

This is also a very easy part of the process. You can even get really technical by segmenting leads according to their answers, but I chose not to do that this time around!

Adding my Interact Quiz to my SquareSpace Website

Now my beautiful quiz lives on my website! No matter what page you visit, the Interact Quiz that I embedded in my SquareSpace header code section will appear within 3 seconds of you “landing” on my site! How cool is that?

Look how amazing the Interact Quiz looks! I’m so happy with the result!

Now I just have to wait for the leads to begin rolling it (hopefully). I don’t have a good screen shot yet of my leads since I literally implemented my quiz on my website just a couple of days ago, but trust me I will be adding one in the next month for sure once I have something to show for it!

Hopefully you enjoyed learning how to make an amazing personality quiz through Interact to use on your website to generate leads! In full disclosure, Interact reached out to me offering me their program for free in exchange for a blog post. I would not have continued with the partnership if I didn’t think their program was amazing and beneficial for entrepreneurs and small businesses. I only choose to blog/share about products & software services I truly find to be helpful and worth their value. The link to get 15% off your subscription is in fact an affiliate link that will generate a small amount of income for ElisaAnne Calligraphy (at not additional cost to you, of course).
