STEP 1: Consultation & Booking
After you fill out the online inquiry form, I take time to put together a custom wedding invitation quote just for you. This quote will be sent back to you & I will schedule a call to address any questions or concerns that you have about the process. To book with me, I require a 50% non-refundable retainer; due to the nature of investing in my custom invitation designs, I can create payment plans on a case-by-case basis as a courtesy to you. STEP 2: Inspiration & Sketches
During this phase I create a lookbook that is unique to you, your wedding, and the vision you have for your wedding invitations! Don't forget, your wedding invitations are the first impression of your wedding and I want to make sure they will reflect you, your fiancé, and your event as well as possible. Once you have taken a look through the lookbook and confirmed that all of the inspiration is in line with what you want, I create sketches of a custom wedding invitation design for you. These sketches serve as the base for the rest of invitation design and will allow you to see the direction your design is headed in.
STEP 3: Design & Editing
This is perhaps one of the most exciting phases of the process; I do all of the nitty-gritty work on the back end and then you are able to see the beautiful results! All rounds of invitation designs are sent via an online questionnaire that allows you to give specific feedback about the design. Your package will include 3 FREE revision rounds that allow you to make specific changes to the design. Additional revisions for your custom wedding invitations are permitted as well and charged on a per-revision basis.
STEP 4: Proofing & Printing
Once we have determined that your invitations are completed on the digital side of the design, you will be sent a proofing form to make sure that all names, dates, addresses, and information placed on the invitation is correct. The last thing I want to do is send your pieces to print with any sort of errors on them! Once you have signed off on the form (yes, we do require an official signature) I send your designs to print. After your custom wedding invitations are finished printing, I receive them and do a quality check before a) sending them to you or b) mailing them to your guests.
STEP 5: Assembly & Mailing
Depending on the package you book, you may have decided that you want to assemble & mail your invitations on your own. In that case, the invitations and envelopes will be shipped to you.
However, if you have hired me to do this step we will most likely be completing the addressing and calligraphy for your envelopes as well before mailing them to your guests. After the addressing, I will package your invitations with extreme care and deliver them to the post office for you to hand cancel them! Please be aware the USPS is a third-party and I can not be held responsible for issues with mailing. I do promise that I take every precaution to ensure as safe of a mailing process as possible for your custom wedding invitations! And don't worry, I always keep extras on hand if any don't make it through the USPS mailing service for some reason.

When I first got engaged, I immediately knew I wanted to design my own wedding invitations, as well as address the envelopes for the wedding invitations in calligraphy. Little did I realize how much that endeavor would end up costing at the time; the truth is, many brides (me included) don’t necessarily realize how much wedding invitation design and addressing will cost when the time comes to hire someone, or do it on your own. Most people are often a little unfamiliar with the timeline for invites as well! Here are some common questions that get asked:
How much should I expect to pay for custom wedding invitations?
The truth is, if you hire a professional designer or calligrapher to create your wedding invitations, it will cost approximately $1,500 for 100 designed and printed invitations and RSVP cards, and that doesn’t count additional pieces that you might want, such as a wedding map, details card, accommodations card, etc. Pricing will vary depending on the print methods and designer that you choose; however, the most basic design package for wedding invitation design and printing with me starts at $1,750. My pricing packages increase from there based on what you want included in your wedding invitation design! How soon in advance do I need to book with you?
Wedding invitations are most commonly mailed 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding date. The custom wedding invitation design process may last up to two months, which requires us to get started on brainstorming at least 5 months before the wedding (make it 6 just to be safe). Or, if you already have your address list and all your information ready to go, we can start designing and scheming even earlier than 6 months before your wedding! I am currently booking wedding invitation designs for 2018 brides.
Do you require a down-payment or a deposit?
Yes, when you book with ElisaAnne Calligraphy you are required to pay a 50% non-refundable retainer that locks in your place on our design calendar. This payment can be paid in 2-3 installments on a case-by-case basis, so feel free to ask me about this option. I know that you're investing in a lot of wedding services at once so I want to make the process convenient for you!
Isn't it easier to just order my wedding invitations through an online invitation store?
If you are looking for a design experience that is sure to result in paper goods created specifically for you, your wedding, your venue, and your experience, then I am who you want. I will help you bring your vision to life based on the questionnaire you fill out, a detailed lookbook created for you, a phone-call consultation, and continual communication throughout the custom wedding invitation design process. What printing options do you offer for invitations?
I currently offer digital printing (also called flat printing), letterpress printing, and foil printing. Please be aware that letterpress and foil printing techniques will often result in a longer turnaround time for your custom wedding invitations, meaning we will have to start designing further in advance. Letterpress & foil invitations will also result in a higher cost for your invitations as well, so plan on spending around $500 - $1,000 more if you are interested in those options!
Do you offer a package that includes designing Save the Dates?

Since I'm is a designer and a calligrapher, I am essentially your "one stop shop" for custom wedding invitations. Instead of printing your invitations in one place, purchasing envelopes from another, and then trying to find a calligrapher to hire, I can do ALL of it for you. And the most beautiful part about it is that the calligraphy script used on your wedding invitations will match exactly with the envelope addressing, which is equally beautiful and impressive when the entire suite is assembled and seen together.
